Factory-integrated autonomy brings labor-free vegetation management to utility-scale solar arrays; Mach to showcase platforms at RE+ 26 in Las Vegas.

FINKSBURG, MD, OCT. 28, 2026 — Mach, a developer of autonomy technology for off-road machines, today announced a commercial solar mowing solution designed for independent Power Producers that own and operate utility-scale solar assets.
Vegetation management is one of the largest recurring operations and maintenance costs on a solar site. Mowing between and beneath panel rows is repetitive, labor-intensive, and has to be done on a schedule across sites that are often remote and spread across wide territories.

Mach’s autonomy platform is built to factory integrate into commercial mowing platforms purpose-built for this environment, giving energy companies a way to keep sites maintained with fewer operators on the ground. “Utility-scale solar sites present one of the most demanding operational environments in off-road autonomy—narrow clearances, dense panel shadows, GPS-degraded zones, and zero tolerance for infrastructure strikes,” said Colin Hurd, CEO of Mach. “By delivering our full-stack autonomy as a Tier-1 partner to commercial equipment OEMs, we provide solar asset owners with the rugged, dealer-supported machinery they already trust, supercharged with driverless capability. This ecosystem approach enables solar developers to scale vegetation management across gigawatts of assets while giving equipment manufacturers an immediate, turnkey path to lead the autonomous solar market.”

Mowing utility scale solar sites is not an easy use case for autonomy but it is certainly an important one. By leveraging Mach’s 10+ years of experience of operating in similar environments along with our growing OEM partnerships we are extremely well positioned to provide a reliable, scalable, and cost effective solution to address this critical need and support the growing global demand for energy. — Colin Hurd, CEO, Mach.

Built for Solar Realities, Engineered for OEM Scale

  • Factory-Integrated OEM Architecture: Integrates directly with commercial OEM drive-by-wire systems. Vehicle manufacturers can rapidly bring autonomous commercial mowers to market without the 5-year development cycle and capital expense of building an in-house robotics division.
  • Precision Navigation & Infrastructure Protection: Powered by Mach Perception, RTK-GNSS, and Mach’s patented RadX phased-array radar, the system operates reliably through dust, tall grass, and sun glare, actively detecting and avoiding tracker posts, guy wires, inverter pads, and hanging harnesses.
  • Centralized Fleet Orchestration (Mach Ops): Purpose-built for energy companies and vegetation contractors managing distributed assets across multiple sites. A single remote operator can dispatch, monitor, and geofence multiple machines across nationwide portfolios.
  • Dealer-Supported Serviceability: Because the system runs on established commercial OEM platforms, routine mechanical maintenance, blades, and hydraulics are supported through existing nationwide equipment dealer networks, eliminating proprietary hardware bottlenecks.

Experience Mach Autonomy at RE+ 26

Mach will showcase its autonomous solar mowing platform at RE+ 26, November 16–19, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, West Hall — Booth W16676. Attendees can inspect the machine, review field validation data, and meet with Mach’s technical leadership.

  • Solar Asset Owners, IPPs & O&M Contractors: Learn how Mach autonomy reduces vegetation O&M costs and post-strike risks across your portfolio by visiting Mach or scheduling a site evaluation at RE+.
  • Equipment & Mower OEMs: To explore factory-integrating Mach’s Tier-1 autonomy platform onto your commercial equipment line, contact the Mach OEM partnerships team at sales@mach.io or visit Booth W16676.
